Each year the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers recognize leading organizations that offer the nation's best benefits for younger workers. Here are some of the reasons why we were selected as one of Canada's Top Employers for Young People in 2016:
- We manage a co-op program to help students develop their professional skills through workshops, lunch and learn sessions and networking opportunities -- students also have lunch with CEO Bryan Pearson and participate in speed networking events with the executive committee
- Recently, we organized a case study competition to provide co-op students with an opportunity to work with senior managers and other employees to create a solution for an issue currently faced by the organization -- final recommendations were presented to the senior leadership team and executive council
- Students working at LoyaltyOne also receive coaching and training from members of the talent acquisition team on how to participate effectively in interview settings, including resume check-ups and advice on how to utilize their LinkedIn profile -- and meet with human resources representatives twice per term to discuss personal career aspirations and their potential fit within the company
